Tourism Ireland has prioritised North America – the United States and Canada – as a market area which offers a strong return on investment, in terms of holiday visitors and spend. Visitors from the United States and Canada tend to stay longer and travel more widely around our regions.
In 2023, we welcomed 1.2 million tourists from the United States to the island of Ireland, whose visits were worth €1.7/£1.5 billion to our economy. We welcomed around 180,000 Canadian tourists to the island of Ireland, who spent almost €255/£222 million.
